Administration Options:  

Survey Crafter Professional surveys can be administered through paper format, interview or published online. You can send invitations about your survey through email; however, surveys cannot be administered or calculated through email.

Survey Creation:  

Survey Crafter provides you with more than six question options including multiple choice, ranking, all that apply and more, to assist you in creating your surveys. They use a drag and drop method; you simply choose which question type you would like to use and drag it to your survey and fill in the questions and answers. Another feature Survey Craft added, and is new to the 4.0 version, is the ability to choose the minimum and maximum number of prompts respondents can select when answering an all-that-apply question.

You can set specific requirements and patterns like requiring answers, skip patterns, passwords and curb online respondents from taking the survey more than once. Respondents can also save incomplete surveys or update answers later. You can also add company logos, images or photographs to your survey; and change font type and color. Many customizing options you would have with a program like Microsoft Word are available on Survey Crafter.

Survey Crafter also includes several sample surveys that can be modified and used as templates at your own digression.

Survey Analysis:  

Survey Crafter’s strongest assets are its analysis wizards. They include a banner wizard, counts & frequencies wizard, correlation matrix wizard, cross tabulation wizard, descriptive statistics wizard, charts wizards and more. Available charts are 2D or 3D pie or bar charts that can be customize by color, legend or axes. Additionally, all reports can be exported to Word, Excel or Text files.

Survey Crafter’s statistical analysis is not as technical as the #2 product, StatPac; however, the wizards make Survey Crafter analysis reports easy to use and provide the most common statistical requirements to produce relevant and reliable survey results.

Ease of Use:  

As soon as you install and run Survey Crafter Professional, it immediately begins a tutorial. The tutorial systematically takes you through many of its major functions and procedures.

Survey Crafter’s main menu is broken into four simple categories, surveys, data, analyses and variables. Variables are a broken down analysis of all the questions, responses and variable descriptors available in the survey file.

Survey Crafter Professional can host web surveys on any server running on Linux, UNIX, Windows 95 or later or with MacIntosh OS X or later. Servers running on UNIX or MacIntosh OS X or later require Perl 5.

Help/Support:  

We found Survey Crafter Professional’s introduction tutorial to be one of its most valued assets, if you have any additional questions, Survey Crafter provides a comprehensive help manual, telephone and email support and FAQ online. There are also tips of the day and tips to conducting successful surveys in the manual.

We found Survey Crafter Professional to have the perfect balance of creative freedom coupled with strong statistical analysis. Although this software would work for technical research, it was the best program we could find that is suited for both scientific and market research. As well, Survey Crafter has added some small, but important features to their 4.0 version, which we believe is in keeping with their stellar products.
